A reflection game · One move a day
LILA
One move a day. The board answers.
Roll the die at midnight. An AI host reads the square you landed on and asks one question. Write your answer. That's the whole game.
How it plays
Three things.
Every day.
Roll once a day
Each day you get one roll. The number is generated at midnight, seeded by a server timestamp — you cannot re-roll, and neither can we.
The AI host reads the square
Where you land, the host speaks. Not a fortune — a reflection. She names what the square has meant to people across time, and what it might mean to notice it today.
You answer one question
One question. Write as little or as much as you need. Your answer goes into your journal — a private record only you can read.
The roll
Provably fair.
No tricks.
Each roll is generated server-side using a seeded random function — the seed is a cryptographic timestamp written before you see the result. After each game day closes, the seed is published. You can paste it into any standard PRNG and verify the number yourself.
A random seed is generated and locked at the start of each game day — before any roll.
Your result is derived from the seed. It cannot change after locking.
When the day closes, the seed goes public. Anyone can verify the roll was fair.
The journal
Every answer
stays yours.
Over time your moves form a record — not of the game, but of you. Where you were. What you were circling. What you finally said out loud.
“When was the last time you felt genuinely certain about something?”
I kept circling back to a Tuesday in March. The kind of morning where the light is wrong but everything else is right…
“What have you been explaining to yourself that you already know isn't true?”
The answer came before I finished reading the question. That's how I knew I'd been carrying it for a while.
“What would you pursue if you stopped needing it to work out?”
I wrote three words and then deleted them. Then I wrote them again. That felt like enough for today.
The rhythm
Why one
move a day?
Slow is the point
One move a day keeps the game from becoming noise. You can't rush a reflection by playing more rounds.
The gaps matter
Between rolls, the question stays open. People report that answers arrive in the shower, on a walk — not at the keyboard.
No pressure to insight
Some days the question lands deep. Some days you write two sentences and close the tab. Both are fine. The journal holds whatever you give it.
“LILA doesn't tell you where you're going.
It asks where you've been.”
